Gooseberry Falls as one of the most spectacular waterfalls at North Shore area are known as the gateway to the North Shore Scenic Drive. The Gooseberry River plummets down a wall of rock creating the scenic falls.
The very spectacular historical Split Rock Lighthouse was completed by the U.S. Lighthouse Service in 1910. Split Rock Light Station which quickly became one of Minnesota's best known landmarks is one of the most recognized and photographed icons in the state. Nowadays, the Lighthouse is restored to its 1920s appearance.
Minneapolis Sculpture Garden is located across from the Walker Art Center. The 11-acre garden is a joint project of the Walker Art Center and the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board is the largest urban sculpture garden in the country. The garden used to be connected to Loring Park, but the construction of Interstate 94 in the 1960s split the area into two parts.
